Truth about Software Testing Institute in Pune

I did inquiry of few software testing institutes for my cousin. Though I am a software tester but I want my cousin to learn from an institute so that he can be a good tester.

I called few institutes specially Seed Infotech, MindTree, SQTL, STC and few others. I was completely disappointed with the course they offered.

Everyone is following ISTQB syllabus. Everyone was offering Job guarantee program. They strictly said to me that ‘There is no practice for Manual Testing’. Most of them will finish the course within a month. 15 days for manual and 15 days for automation.

I felt that these institutions will make my cousin dumb software tester. Whatever he has little brain to think, it will stop after joining these institutions.

I get Job emails from Seed Infotech with a job description, ‘Require Faculty for Software Testing, and experience from 6 months – 3 years’ I wonder 6 months experienced faculty? Is she expert enough to teach software testing? Does she have knowledge how projects run in industries?

I was disheartened with software testing institutes. They should close their shops because they are not doing even a good job. It’s money business.

Change is constant. Soon Software Tester demand in market will increase for ‘Thinker Tester’. There will be job requirement for a tester who is sapient in Exploratory testing, who can create her own tools, who can be agile and can lead testing.

If Aspire Systems a small IT company  experiments ‘Rapid Software Testing’ and demonstrate to the Client then it’s time for MNCs like TCS, Cognizant, Infosys or Wipro to do the same.

It’s time for Indian Tester to look beyond software testing as easy way to get a job. As I always feel that if your interest, passion or work stops learning new things then you stop your own growth. That’s the end of your interest, if water stops its flow then it get stagnated.

We Indian tester needs to make our own future bright with a zeal of learning testing.
